Chattanooga Named Third-Best Place to Live in U.S.
June, 2008

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -- Chattanooga is one of America’s best places to live, according to a 2008 listing by RelocateAmerica.com. Nominated for its rich culture, beautiful landscapes and business opportunities, Chattanooga landed a third-place ranking—topping cities like Seattle, WA, Asheville, NC and Albuquerque, NM.

Each year, RelocateAmerica—an online source of community and real estate information—compiles a list of the Top 100 places to live in the U.S., according to statistics and feedback from the people who live in the nominated cities.

An editorial board creates the list by researching and reviewing data about each city’s education, employment, economy, crime, parks, housing and recreation. This year, more than 2,000 cities were reviewed in the selection process.

According to RelocateAmerica, Chattanooga’s best selling points also include its educational facilities, healthy economy and variety of recreational opportunities. The city was praised for its mild winter weather, its location on the Tennessee River and its proximity to the Smoky Mountains, Nashville and Atlanta.

Charlotte, NC, and San Antonio, TX, came in first and second on the RelocateAmerica list. Following Chattanooga in the Top 10 were Greenville, SC, Tulsa, OK, Stevens Point, WI, Asheville, NC, Albuquerque, NM, Huntsville, AL and Seattle, WA.
